I guess you could call these two images Beauty & the Beast.

On our morning walk, Daniel & I came across "the beast", properly named "Pteropus poliocephalus" and commonly miscalled a flying fox. Quite dead, on the power lines. You might notice there minute holes in the bat's leathery wings which be a aeronomic adaptation or maybe just accidental.
