Bird's eye view of Pelican at Manning Point

Kookaburra junior of Longueville

Duck pays visit to The Shed one evening

Strange visitor next door to The Shed - perhaps a swamp peasant?

Long time, no hear from me....
Here's where we've been, beautiful Mitchells Island:

We sighted dolphins on Day One of our week-long holiday, while having a coffee at Manning Point. The fish were jumping, with fishermen and pelicans queued up along the piers.

Mitchells Island beach is good for beachcombers, but pretty treacherous for surfers and swimmers, as it is known for its "rips".

Our island is big, adjacent Oxley Island is about the same size, but Cabbage Tree Island is tiny, just at the outlet of the south arm of the Manning River....

Daniel & Jane are engaging in a fascinating Xmas activity called cracker pulling. Using whatever winning techniques will work, the opponents line up on either said of said cracker and pull the little ribbon on the inside until there is a loud bang and someone ends up with most of the remains in their hand. Thrilling, yes?
