Do these two look alike or what? At the Great Northern Hotel, celebrating Ben's 26th b-day. Unfortunately, later in the evening, Ben fell off a bike and broke his collarbone....He'll be all right. Twenty-six is still invincible, isn't it?

This morning, before yoga practice.....

Friday, March 27, 2009

Kylie and Sky came to visit on a slightly overcast, humid day, and we played on the lawn in front of Tambourine Bay. Highlights were throwing rocks and sticks into the water, waving at every plane flying overhead (and there were very many of them, and picniking on Kylie's home-made blueberry muffins.

I was able to spend most of the day with Donna Farhi, but it wasn't enough time to share all the gossip of the yoga world. Very enjoyable lunch, joined by Mark O'Brien, Donna's host for her weekend workshop....

Camelias are coming in - always remind me of winter - as they seem to bloom for the whole season. But, it's just autumn. Who cares, they are beautiful!

The last few nights we've been having dinner on the balcony and watching the great golden sunset show. We are truly blessed in our Tambourine Bay retreat.

It's dark when we wake up now at 6:08am., still on daylight savings, but gradually the sun enlightens our view. I do my P90X Fitness program for about an hour -weights, aerobics, core work, etc. I've done the various dvd offerings so many times over the last year that I can look out at Tambourine Bay and not at Tony Horton and his little demonstration class. I like to turn the sound right down too so I can hear the birdlife :)

Low, low tide of the full-moon period last week....When the tide is so low, we must walk out and drag the kayak through the mud to set off into Tambourine Bay and the Lane Cove River. Fortunately the paddling is so pleasant, once one is gliding through the water, that the sludge isn't too much of a disincentive. However, high tide is always preferable!.

What's a goat doing up here? He's actually our neighbours' lawn-mower. His name is Cardie, short for Cardigan. He bleats frequently and loudly, and has been known to eat newly planted trees, instead of buffalo grass....
