Do you ever wonder where birds go to die? Evidently sometimes in our Bay, judging by this poor creature. More often than not though, birds just find a quiet secluded spot to expire, probably to stay out of camera frames like mine.....

One day the different breeds congregated to look out over the Bay to see what they could see (unknown).

The heron is the rarest of the group....Now the lapwings seem to have vanished, possibly for the winter?

Hot off the camera, from yesterday, and from our neighbours balcony. There will be fewer images showing the house construction progressing as our photographers are setting off to Canada this morning....

177 days and counting down.... I realised I want to collect photos of friends & students & places in Sydney. Here's my pals from Yoga X-Change...Marian, Fabio, and Sal. Coincidentally, David Brille, our old neighbour from the Village Green apartments, was at Montagu's and took the photo.

Daniel with Kylie, Shirley, and Sue when they arrived from the airport and met his at his office. You can't see the view from the window but it's a comprehensive look over the whole west of Sydney. Two bridges, waterways, and in the distance the Blue Mountains. Daniel's office is Crows Nest, rightly named for it's bird's eye views....

An walking outing across the Harbour Bridge from Milson's Point to the Rocks to Circular Quay and the Museum of Contemporary Art....

The lighted installation is the work of an extraordinary Japanese woman artist, Yayoi Kasuma. She has worked prodigiously over her 80 years and influenced a huge number of influential artists. What an absolute treat to see her exhibition!

Donny Woolagoodja has co-written a book on "Mowanjum", the artistic community between Derby and Broome, where many of his family live.

The book was launched at Gleebooks in Sydney, with a big crowd who turned out.

The costs for producing the book were offset by selling a magnificent Aboriginal painting from Mowanjum - which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Once a year these yachts appear for a couple of days and then vanish. Last few years there were 6, now 4. Maybe the GFC got the other two....

Here's the garages under the communal areas....

We women of Deep Creek gathered for our annual retreat, in the Blue Mountains, beautiful in the shocks of orange and red tree colours. Unfortunately, I was as sick as I've been for a long time before, during and after the retreat. I think I look kind of small and foggy in most of the photos taken but, hey, I've been in fantastic company!

On the Evans lookout path in Blackheath....

Shirley, generous and thoughtful as always, had a photo collage printed to celebrate 10 years of retreats, but there's more to that story :)

Men feature in a couple of photos as they arrived to pick up Daniel for his men's retreat that was held at Bawley Point.
Everybody knew each other very well from the old LIS days.
