Photos from our weekend up at Mitchells Island. While the house still looks rather unfinished, it's easy to walk around inside and see the guest bathroom, the pantry, where the dining table is going to go, etc. The bathtubs have been delivered and will be installed soon-ish. Most of the windows and sliding doors are on. You can go out on the decks and see the views from different areas of the house. It's very exciting!
I like this photo because it shows the view at sunset in the windows.

The Botanical Gardens Trust put on a "history walk" for the public that we participated in on Sunday. The guided walk took us around the gardens harbour foreshore, a spot that has to be one of the most beautiful in the world. We were introduced to some amazing trees in the gardens, and learned something about the history of the indigenous people as well as the European "invaders". The weather was near-perfect, amazingly for winter....

Daniel & Judy & I are heading north to see our house construction in person. Matt, one of the builders, has been supplying us with on-site photos. But...we only get a view for the most part of the roof. It's a tricky roof construction, with its skillions and raking, and, from the images, it would appear the builders are proud of their efforts :)

Judy took my camera out into the garden today, inspired by the lavishness of the camelias, for one thing. I was glad she snapped these garden shots as I spend so much time pointing the lens at the Bay that I miss out on all the other beauty that surrounds us.
I think the house is on an acre of land, unheard of relatively close to business districts.
