Daniel's Acapella Choir, "Alchemy", just before they won the McDonalds Performing Arts Challenge, first place in their category...a $500 prize and a shield. They are very proud of themselves and I love that Daniel is having such a good time!

As you can see a perfect day in Paradise. I started this blog 16 months ago when we first moved in to Longueville.
I did it because I wanted to take a few moments every day to settle and remind myself of the beauty of our location.
I've come to realise that having the daily assignment doesn't necessarily lead to appreciation. It requires bringing appreciation to the way one views. Funny that!

Floral beauty from our Hunter Valley weekend....

Here's a gorgeous sunset that Daniel captured yesterday evening. It's real. Not photoshopped!

A couple of pretty shots from our Hunter Valley mini-holiday. It was cold and grey part of the weekend but the idea was to do nothing and get over our flues. Mission very nearly-accomplished!

Faez and birthday girl Susan (Judy' sis) at our Indian dinner on Sat. night. The menu: Entrée - Chicken Shashlick (Chicken wingettes marinated in yogurt, garlic, ginger and tandoori spice and grilled, served hot garnished with fresh coriander and a creamy mint sauce); Main -Aloo Palak (English spinach panfried with potatoes and pickled garlic): Methi Dhal (Toover dhal cooked with dried fenugreek leaves, turmeric and shah zeera, tempered with panfried onions at the end); Fish Pulao –(Dill flavoured Spicy rice layered with fish) and home-made Roti (Hot off the pan rotis)

We're getting the evening light back. And it is beautiful. It makes one feel hopeful, even with the winter months (and cold) still upon us. Stay tuned for the next entry to come from Mitchell's Island Sunday or most probably Monday....

Man, the winds! Can you tell from these images? So windy this afternoon that the roof of a train carriage was blown off while it was crossing the Harbour Bridge! It sets your teeth on edge and electrifies your hair. Enough already!
